Welcome, I'm Portia

Why I Chose Counselling

Throughout my 25-year career, I have supported hundreds of individuals and couples navigating addiction, trauma, and unexpected life transitions.  I chose this work because I am continuously driven by a single conviction: people have an incredible capacity to adapt and heal when they are given the right tools and a genuinely supportive, safe environment.

Rather than relying on rigid formulas, I tailor therapy to your specific goals and circumstances. Whether we are utilizing Reconsolidation Therapy to process trauma, navigating ADHD, or implementing structured recovery frameworks, our sessions are designed to be practical, insightful, and reassuring.

It is important to meet you exactly where you are in your therapeutic process, helping you move forward at a pace that feels safe, manageable, and productive.

Professional Qualifications

I hold a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapies from Concordia University and a Diploma in Psychological Therapies from the Association of Psychological Therapies.

My clinical training covers key areas, including trauma, ADHD, behavioural and substance addictions, and couples counselling.  I am trained in evidence-based modalities such as SMART Recovery, SMART Recovery Friends & Family, and Reconsolidation Therapy: Brunet Method.  By drawing dynamically from these diverse approaches, I tailor our therapeutic work to align perfectly with your unique goals and circumstances.

I am committed to ongoing professional development, regularly pursuing advanced clinical training to ensure my practice remains informed by current evidence and therapeutic best practices.
